Philippe Jordan appointed future music director of the Wiener Staatsoper

Today (07/31/17) it was announced that Philippe Jordan, Chief Conductor of the Wiener Symphoniker, was appointed Music Director of the Wiener Staatsoper. The Wiener Symphoniker and Philippe Jordan will soon be touring Japan, South Korea, France, Germany and Switzerland. Most recently, Jordan’s cycle of all symphonies by Ludwig van Beethoven in the 2016-17 season, which was also recorded for the first time as a complete cycle for the in-house CD label, was recorded and will be released in autumn 2017.
