GUITARP DUO
Consuelo Giulianelli, harpist, and Maurizio Grandinetti, guitarist, form a plucked instruments’ duo as well as a couple in life.

They intend to dig out the original repertoire for this duo formation along with elaborating transcriptions of classical music’s milestones. Their process behind transcription is very accurate and seeks to exploit the full potential of their instruments.
Consuelo Giulianelli and Maurizio Grandinetti met back in 1994 in Basel while studying at the Musik-Akademie in Basel (Maurizio was in the class of Oscar Ghiglia and Hopkinson Smith while Consuelo was in the harp class of Ursula Holliger). The first occasion to perform as a duo was at the Sale Apollinee of the Venetian Teatro La Fenice just before it burned down. Many concerts followed in Europe, mainly in Italy and Switzerland.
They are members of larger Ensembles such as Ensemble Phoenix Basel as well as founder of the concert series “ApérOHR” at the Kulturscheune in Liestal (CH). They performed side by side with the Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, Musikkollegium Winterthur and recently with the Chamber Orchestra of Basel besides artists as Ute Lemper, Olga Neuwirth, Jürg Wyttenbach, Heinz Holliger, Marcelo Nisinman, Misagh Joolaee.
In the last years they concentrated their work on French impressionist music by Debussy, Ravel, de Falla and Mompou. They are currently working with composers in order to enrich the original repertoire for the duo formation guitar and harp.
